Speed Dating

Anyone out there got a view on this? Has it ever worked for you - or do you know someone for whom it has resulted in a lasting successful relationship? I can see the intention behind it ... the whole 'chemistry' thing - and the fact many believe that attraction is a very instant primal thing. But surely one night stands are based on this. What do people think, and what have been the experiences of those who have speed dated - please do tell us.
